I, like everyone I know, celebrated when the WGA strike ended, it meant massive things for the industry as a whole and even more for the culture change around unions. However, I also worried that with the hurrah for WGA, the SAG AFTRA strike would diminish and possibly not get a good deal that they want. It makes me really happy to know that that is not the case and that in fact the SAG AFTRA strikes are still very much going strong even with members being rightfully worried that this is going to continue for much longer than they are anticipating. WIth October 17th being only 2 days away at this point I don’t see this not being the longes strike in SAG history. Hopefully even though it’s the longest, it’s still a successful one. Negotiations seem to be going well, all it takes is for it to stay that way.
