RSC to put on work by poet who wrote Stratford theatre’s first words

John Masefield | The Guardian: Many people might assume that the first words spoken on the stage of the new Shakespeare playhouse in Stratford-upon-Avon when it opened in 1932 were written by Shakespeare, but in fact they were by John Masefield.

As an amateur prop builder and a DIY lover I found this subject to be fascinating. I love being able to make my own things and not having to rely on stores and being limited by what they have in stock and ultimately other peoples designs. While I do just like the ease of buying things sometimes because making your own stuff is a lot of work, there is something to be said for being able to make something custom and your own. The process by which this was made was actually quite simple however I noticed the jaw work was not completely perfect. It did not move so much with actual words and syllables it was just kind of a general open close movement. While that is perfectly fine and works, I wonder if there is a way to code it so the jaw moves with the words and then possibly add a small delay to the sound if needed so they sync up correctly. Overall this is definitely a project I would look into making and perhaps taking the design a step further just to see how it could be done.
