Natalie Ibu: “I think the sector has been too seduced by the idea of new and young and sexy”
Exeunt Magazine: “Oh Rosemary, we’ve got a problem on our hands!” exclaims Natalie Ibu, interrupting herself mid-way through chatting about her new role as Artistic Director of Northern Stage. The situation? Obi Puff Puff, an adorable white Maltese dog who’s the star of Ibu’s social media feed and who I instantly asked to meet at the start of the interview, has helped himself to an entire bag of treats intended to be kept out of his reach.

The Revelations of Celebface, the Private Instagram Account
jezebel.com: In 2006 Dove was on a mission to show the world “real beauty.” As part of an ongoing campaign to make women feel comfortable in their own skin, the company released an ad showing the labor-intensive process of transforming a woman into a model. In sped-up time, her fresh face gets covered in makeup, her hair is curled into perfect ringlets, and photographs are taken. The real fun begins as she is photoshopped into digital perfection: her neck becomes elongated, her face gets thinner, her eyes widen. “No wonder our perception of beauty is distorted,” the ad concludes, like a somber anti-smoking PSA.

Alysha Umphress Responds to NY Times Journalist's Alleged Body Shaming
www.broadwayworld.com: Alysha Umphress is one of Broadway's most sparkling talents, currently starring in Smokey Joe's Cafe Off-Broadway. Despite Umphress's talents and a general positive reaction to the show, New York Times critic Laura Collins-Hughes made a comment in her review about the actress's weight, and the Twitter-verse is calling it out as body shaming.
