David Lynch Club Silencio Nightclub Frieze LA Takeover: Dates, Details

www.rollingstone.com: The first iteration of Club Silencio appeared in Lynch’s seminal 2001 film, Mulholland Drive, where both the fictional nightclub and the word (Spanish for “silence”) played a pivotal role in the plot. Lynch eventually decided to re-create the club in real life, opening the doors to Silencio in Paris’s 2nd arrondissement in 2011.

L.A.'s Satellite Club Closes for Good, Says 'Indie Venues Are Screwed'

Variety: L.A.’s Satellite club — a mainstay of the Silver Lake music scene for 25 years that has hosted major acts like Lady Gaga, Beck, the White Stripes and the Foo Fighters — is closed for good, its owners announced Friday.

Shut down since March 12 due to the pandemic, the nightspot has already removed its stage and is being transformed into a sit-down restaurant, because of the dim chances of live music returning any time soon, the club revealed in social media posts.

Techie Talk: Seattle, USA-based Joe Cole, owner of lighting rental company R90, was savoring some good conversation and a whisky-on-the-rocks over Zoom with his friend, attorney Neil Juneja of Gleam Law one Wednesday evening, and like most of us, missing shows, music and the incredible buzz and camaraderie of live events that has temporarily evaporated under lockdowns worldwide.
