How 'Loki' Season 2 Recreated the 1893 Chicago World's Fair

collider.com: The second season of Loki is recreating history, literally and metaphorically. In this time travel tale the God of Mischief (Tom Hiddleston) and Mobius (Owen Wilson) are on a trip hopping timelines in a bid to save the TVA and by extension the sacred timeline. The third episode, which hits the halfway mark for the series, elaborated on some burning questions that fans had since the first season and also took us back in time to the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair to find Victor Timely (Jonathan Majors), a variant of Kang, in a bid to repair the Time Loop.

Loki has been one of my favorite Marvel TV shows in the past few years. I always loved the character from the film franchise, and was so upset when he was killed off in the movies, but the character development and different side of the god that we get to see in the tv show is incredible. I have been anticipating the release of season 2 since we were left with the cliffhanger of season one, and have been watching each episode as they release throughout the weeks. Something that never fails to blow me away is the production design of this show; it has such a distinct style, in a weird mid-century-modern meets sci-fi-futuristic, which inherently feels contradicting but they make it work. The episode taking place in the Chicago fair was so well done, it still had the color grading of this darker setting, but they managed to make it feel so grand and busy, as I was assuming it was at the time. I am excited to continue to watch the rest of the show, especially since the most recent episode left us with so many questions.
