PhysFestNYC: Send in the Clowns?
New York Theater: I saw three shows that featured clowns at PhysFestNYC, billed as the first-ever festival in New York City to showcase physical theater, which is wrapping up its ten-day run on Sunday. Physical theater doesn’t have to feature clowning, judging from the festival line-up: The 16 shows presented by some 100 theater artists seem to include mime, dance, performance art, even puppetry but, yes, lots of clown shows

I think hearing about these clown shows is super cool. This New York City Festival of theater sounds so cool and interesting, and I like the fact that it was all Physical theater. going through the reviews of the three clown pieces was kind of interesting for me. Obviously I wasn't the one who was there and viewing the piece, but Jonathan Mandel's comment on the clips and sound effects of the actual War at the end of his review honestly doesn't seem like something I would agree with. I think that inserting actual footage of the war occurring is incredibly important to any peace that revolves around this conflict. I think this is because we need to see the true emotions and environment that this war causes. well it may not have fit in this specific piece, I think it is incredibly important that we remember words are underrepresented especially in third world countries in the United States of America. Also the review of the second play was very fun, as someone who grew up with the tale of Baba Yaga because of my Armenian mother, it was cool to know that there was a play about this. Also there's a typo in this review he says Baba Yana instead of Baba Yaga, so hope he catches it next time :)
