I recently saw Maestro and I really enjoyed it. The film was so artsy and beautiful to watch. It was very cinematically done. I feel like the costume design really helped to create this artful vibe of the film. You can really tell Mark Bridges worked hard to do all his research and collaborate with Bradely Cooper, the lead actor and director. I feel like the fact that Cooper held two major positions in the film definitely made the collaboration process easier and helped streamline the design team’s ideas. It was really interesting to learn about Bridger's process and the difficulties that he had, nonetheless. I had not even considered the fact that Bridges had to consider the movement of the fabrics he chose due to the large amount of choreography in the film. I also thought it was cool to hear about his process when designing for a black and white film. There is definitely a different way that you have to go through the design process when working in black and white.

I have not watched maestro, but I think Mark Bridges did an amazing job! I honestly didn't even know that Bradley Cooper was a director, I thought he was just an actor. I loved going through and reading the interview with Mark Bridges because it talked about his design process and the fact that he knew nothing about these people before. Much like Mark Bridges, I'm familiar with a few of Leonard's compositions but not really sure of who he is and what his life is about. I think it's so fun and interesting that you can go from not knowing anything about something to designing and honestly becoming entwined with this character and their life. also the fact that Mark Bridges designed for Joker means that he has my whole heart. I love that movie! it is genuinely a cinematic Masterpiece and it's incredibly impactful in the costumes and it was incredibly well done and thought through. I'd be very interested to actually meet Mark Bridges and see what he's like in person because obviously you can't know someone through an interview.
