World-first venue combines sliding roof, pitch and LED wall
www.avinteractive.com: The world’s first fully integrated venue with a combined retractable roof, pitch and LED wall is set to be built in Saudi Arabia.
Designed by architecture practice Populuous – which also designed the Sphere in Las Vegas – the architectural innovation will be seen at the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium in Qiddiya City.

I usually don't stay up to date about this sort of news but I do find this cool. The thing that intrigued me the most was actually the fact that the company in charge, Populous, is the same team behind the Sphere. I am hoping to stay more connected to this company because their ideas, designs, and ambitions are really interesting and inspiring to me. I am excited that we are getting to the point where we can integrate technology with the architecture to make a venue like this that will enhance the experience of every type of event that will happen in this space. It is also one of my dreams to go to a World Cup final game, I don’t really support the idea of the World Cup being hosted in semi-controversial countries, like the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Overall, this concept is really intriguing and I am excited to see the final product be built.
