Hollywood Unions Show Support As AFM Enters Negotiations With AMPTP
Deadline: The AFM entered into negotiations with the AMPTP for its new collective bargaining agreement on Monday, fighting for many of the same things the WGA and SAG-AFTRA did during last year’s dual strikes, including AI protections, increased wages, and improved streaming residuals.

As always it's really great to see another Union fighting for their rights. Like everyone else, I was closely watching the strikes with SAG-AFTRA and the WGA and I remember seeing the unions including AFM join them in solidarity. I'm really glad that SAG-AFTRA and the WGA are supporting the AFM right back now as they begin their negotiations. It's what we were all talking about at the time is that the two unions striking and getting what they want if played correctly would mark the start of a wave of other unions’ negotiations going even better now that the companies know how long the unions are willing and able to go on strike for. The thing that got the WGA and SAG-AFTRA through their strike was the support from all the other unions and the general population. I'm just worried that as many things do the general population will either forget or just want to move on and leave future negotiations at the same point they were just a few years ago.
