Okay, while Waves is undisputedly the best plugin maker, and the LV1 system seems quite capable, it's also susceptible to something I hate when it comes to mixer design. The proliferation of mixers that rely on software based input (mouse, touchscreen, etc.) as opposed to traditional control surfaces. While you can get a fader control surface for the LV1, there isn't the ability to control parameters with tactile controls. If you look at the "industry standard" for mixing consoles, DiGiCo, you'll see that for most of their console lineup, excluding the S-series lineup, that while they do have touch screens, most controls are accessible through buttons and pots. For a lot of sound engineers, having all of your controls in front of you speeds up your workflow. This is why some recording studios stand by the SSL Analog Desks, since they are mostly analog desks with more modern variants having some digital aspects of them.
