I love getting to learn about new photographers, especially those employing the technology of their field in fascinating (and new to me) ways. I had never really thought about how the frequencies of various screens, projections, LEDs and whatever else is going on on stage would affect the photo being taken and how that can affect how the colors in photos get processed, but it makes a lot of sense. I’m sure this is a challenge that will only increase as the big stage shows get more and more involved over time. I really liked the photography examples included in this article - I think I’m going to keep an eye out for Larmann’s book in 2025 - I’m sure it’ll be an interesting capture of all of these different moments of entertainment. My other slightly unrelated takeaway from this article is that I need to try my best to get out to the Austrian Bregenz Festival (as featured towards the end of the article), as it genuinely looks stunning, especially with the location it’s in.
