A Look At 3D Printed Professional LED Signage

Hackaday: Customer perception is everything when you’re running a business, particularly in retail. High-quality signage can go a long way into creating a good impression in this respect. [king process] decided to show us how professional-grade LED signage is made in a Korean shop that specializes in the work.

Ever since 3d printing became more popular, efficient, and commercialized, I have always been fascinated by it. Additive construction of products will almost always be more cost-effective because there isn’t any waste like there is with subtractive construction. I think using 3d printing for things like signage is a great application of the process and an innovative one. Neon signs have always always been really difficult and expensive because of have to custom make all the glass tubing and then having to deal with the neon is a whole other complication. If the images at the top of the article are examples of the work this company is putting out, I think it is a great idea and a good and believable replacement. I am hoping to get my own 3d printer soon just to experiment with the process and its applications in theater and I might have to look at the intersection between 3d printing and lighting.
