www.forbes.com: Everybody understands what a touring band is supposed to do: show up, play their show, make some new friends, get paid and just maybe shut down a bar or two. In the old days there was always the possibility of a television or two going out the window. For a newly popular musical act, the audience is just forming a bond with the musicians which, if properly managed, will serve to pay them repeatedly for years to come as new music is released, merchandise is sold, and the band returns to town periodically.
