Good on the DGA for going back to the table with the AMPTP to get the same of the same provisions that the WGA got, and for leveraging the win of SAG-AFTRA and the WGA in order to get better benefits for their members. I know that people will complain that the DGA got these provisions without doing the work of going on strike, but I think it shows the importance of unions. Plus, technically the directors were also out of work during the strikes as well, they just weren’t at the picket line every day. This shows the domino effect that is possible by the wins from the WGA and SAF-AFTRA strikes, I just hope that more unions will get to feel the effects, especially IATSE. It’s a reminder that the arts isn’t just a hobby and that there are blue collar workers in the arts alongside the a-list stars.
