I am not much of a car person, but it has always interested me how major events like this car show operate. The story they tell may be about cars rather than a script, but their goal is fundamentally to tell a story just like theater’s is. Many of the same techniques, skills, and strategies that are used for the production of plays can also be used in these environments. One note in the article that I did find interesting was its suggestion that some attendees of the event in previous years did not approve of the other forms of entertainment that were provided, and just wanted to look at the cars. I think this brings up an interesting point of how important it always is to tailor an event to the patrons who are going to attend it, and that those patrons may not always want what you expect them to want.
