variety.com: The annual festival, which takes place in Manchester, TN, has been plagued by severe weather over the past couple of years, leading to its cancelation in 2025 just a day after it started. In a post on its socials, Bonnaroo organizers explained that the extreme conditions are the root cause of needing to take a break in 2027 so that the campgrounds can recover.

I think Bonnaroo's decision to take a year off in order to recover from inclement weather during the past few festivals was a good choice by management in order for the festival grounds to recover. A lot of my friends have been to Bonnaroo, and while they have enjoyed it, many have told me about how the weather trends that tend to hit Bonnaroo during the festival, and how it has almost ruined their experiences during it. Seeing as this has happened from year-to-year, I’m not sure that taking a year off would completely solve the issue. Therefore, I think another way to solve this issue is to move Bonnaroo to another location within the United States. Many festivals, such as the Sundance film festival, move around from year-to-year and undergo strict algorithms to decide where it’ll be held. Additionally, most people travel to festivals such as Bonnaroo, some from hours away. Moving Bonnaroo to another location wouldn’t necessarily impact its attendance.
