I think that it is really incredible how much the environmentally friendly design market has taken off in the last couple of years. I think that it is extremely important for our continued sustainability as a species. However I will say that it is pretty disappointing to see how low the entertainment department ranks when compared to other markets like Health Care and Commercial Offices. Frankly when airports outrank you in investment into environmentally friendly design, you really have a problem. I understand that it is especially difficult when considering the fact that entertainment does not have the same negative environmental output as retail or airports or things of that nature but it still really needs to catch up to other groups when it comes to sustainability. I feel like, especially within the theatre industry, there needs to be sustainable options invested in that both help the environment without compromising the industry’s ability to work at its full capacity.
