Representative Lauren Boebert Apologizes After Being Removed From Beetlejuice Performance
Playbill: U.S. Representative Lauren Boebert has released a statement regarding her ejection from a recent Denver performance of the Beetlejuice national tour. According to The Denver Post, Boebert was escorted out of the theatre after "causing a disturbance," with venue officials reporting that the Colorado politician vaped during the performance; she also sang along and recorded the show.

It was absolutely shocking for me to learn that a U.S. Representative would behave in such a way in a public place, especially a place of live performance. There is absolutely no excuse for her behavior, and it is so strange that she would even lie about it in the first place. Honestly, I don’t really care what people do in their free time, but I think it is just really dumb that there are so many articles about this and this is what we have to focus on. There should be no reason that we should have to be talking about the inappropriate behaviors of U.S. Representatives. Beetlejuice is actually one of my favorite shows that I have seen. I thought it was incredibly well done and loved how the house was almost like it was its own character. It is so sad that someone else’s performance has overshadowed the work of the people involved in Beetlejuice.
This entire situation serves as a powerful reminder that we all need to conduct ourselves with respect in public spaces, such as theaters. It's a place where people come to escape reality, immerse themselves in a story, and appreciate the hard work and talent of the performers. Disruptive behavior not only ruins the experience for others but also disrespects the art form itself. It also serves as a wake-up call for public figures, like Boebert, to consider the consequences of their actions. As elected representatives, they are held to a higher standard and their behavior reflects not only on themselves but also on the constituents they represent. This incident highlights the importance of being mindful of one's actions and the impact they can have on others. Hopefully, this incident will prompt a collective introspection on the importance of civility and displaying respect in our society. It should serve as a reminder that we all have a responsibility to create a positive and harmonious environment, whether it's in a theater, a workplace, or any other public space. It's essential that we all remember to treat others with kindness, empathy, and respect. It's what makes our society stronger and more inclusive.
