Wembley Stadium Sets Attendance Record During Biggest Concert Season
TicketNews: Wembley Stadium has completed the largest summer concert season in its history after welcoming more than 2.5 million music fans to 34 shows between June and September.
The 90,000-capacity London stadium increased its concert schedule by about 30% compared with 2025, when it presented 26 shows. This year’s program established a venue record for the number of concerts held during a single calendar year.

Wembley stadium can hold 90,000 people according to the article. That figure multiplied by the number of shows (34) means at full capacity for each show; it can gross a total maximum of 3,060,000 audience members. At 2.5 million guests that's over 82% attendance on average for its concerts. It makes me wonder how the statistics from the past years compare relatively to this figure. After COVID, when people had been stuck in doors and socially distanced, there was a collective itching, it seemed, to go out and do things in person again. However, there was also an anxiety and hesitancy to do this for some people as well. I wonder if this is a residual build as an effect from that, or if it's simply returning to post COVID numbers. In that same vein, it could be that the percentage is the same, but either there were just more shows, or is just more public interest in the artists on tour allowing them to do more days. Hence, Harry Styles 12 show residency, of which I had friends in the state who went or were bemoaning that they couldn't travel abroad to see the show.
The set up and management of 34 shows in two months is an incredible task that I would love to have seen from the perspective of those moving and planning the shows. The management and crew teams for the Wembley stadium must have spent months if not a whole year planning this in advance. I would love to be a part of a group like this someday if only to learn how they figure out all the logistics of working with tours, audience members and their workers. It was really interesting to learn how they are showcasing performances that were the first of its kind on a concert stage and how they are supporting artists that are less shown in concerts. The lengthy run of Harry Styles’ tour in Wembley makes me wonder about the strain that would have on the artist and his team as well as how other artists deal with long tours.
