Experiencing a Protactile Performance of Touch of Slavery
HowlRound Theatre Commons: Entering Touch of Slavery meant releasing my dependence on sight and, in return, gaining a radically expanded understanding of what theatre is and can be. For the performance, audience members are blindfolded and individually led within a space where words did not exist and touch became the only language. What unfolded in that darkened space was genuinely transformative.
