Having the chance to watch the inner workings of the Gershwin theater last summer definitely made me appreciate watching those numbers more! Observing everything that has to take place up close is unlike just reading about it from a book or article. To see the deck crew and makeup team being so efficient despite the amount of swift changes taking place is astonishing. The backstage is completely full of activity as everyone stomps from one side of the stage to another without missing a beat, it's almost like a whole other show within itself! It is so cool to see how the carpenters work on the Time Dragon line next to the automated rigging system! It’s so easy to think that anything that has been on stage for decades exists in an autopilot mode, yet observing a production that large made me realize how much is still constantly changing and being worked on!
