Rocky Horror Show musical director sent threats to self to end production and avoid cast drama
Boing Boing: You'd think someone involved in The Rocky Horror Show couldn't get enough drama. But the musical director of a production in Vermont got so fed up with cast theatrics that he sent a series of threats to himself in a successful effort to shut the show down. Kenneth Grenier, 26, of Hyde Park, was cited for making false reports, according to Essex police.

Reading the title I expected an almost Scooby-doo like plot but from the article it seems much more mundane. While I think that everyone in theatre has had at least one experience where they secretly wish they could be out of a show for some reason or another without all the drama that comes with it, it's hard to imagine someone with the communication skills it takes to direct a show resorting to such extreme tactics to end it. Ultimately it takes all kinds of people to make theatre to happen so learning to communicate and work with others is an essential part of the job. While I don't condone sending false threats to end the show, if the director felt the need to resort to doing so I believe that it was likely for the best that the show was shut down. Without a healthy working relationship between the cast, director, and crew theatre can't work.
