Workshops such as this I think are such a great method for getting children and teenagers acquainted with what goes on behind the scenes. Utilizing the world of Harry Potter as a starting point is such a brilliant idea because it is giving children with a familiar point of reference for trying out costumes and scenery without stressing and getting caught up in details of the technical process right away. What I found as the true beauty of the program is that it does not simply focus on basic arts and crafts, but it also educates students about engineering workflows and design processes. Children aren't only creating mood boards and color palette sketches, but they also are becoming acquainted with the basic forms of design! The best thing about local rehearsals is that they provide kids with opportunities to explore different professional paths. It doesn't really matter whether these children will start performing theater and design-related activities, however being able to be provided with an opportunity to explore props, scenery, and clothes is a great chance to attract children's attention.
