I was familiar with this film prior to reading the article (I almost rented it when it was on the Letterboxd Video Store and I saw the trailer in theatres a few weeks ago) and have always been captivated by the premise, so hearing more about the production was interesting. I feel like I've met a lot of people like Ullom -- or at least people who share his speech patterns and demeanor-- and you can feel the voracious need to get this weird and very relevant story out. I think I could learn a lot from Ullom, in other words. Great horror movies come out all the time, but I do feel like we're seeing a lot of great, very successful films from young and independent filmmakers in recent times, Backrooms and Obsession chief among them. The new era of horror looks bright, and I can't wait for It Ends to find an even bigger audience in theatres.
