As someone who is Jewish and interested in getting involved in the industry, this topic really hits home to me. I think it really is important to be hosting events like this to take action against the discrimination of Jews. Open conversation like this with people who have such big platforms truly encourages change to be made and is a step in the right direction. I also love all of the important topics they are choosing to focus on and discuss. I think talking about how jokes can be used to both oppress and lift up those who are minorities, like Jews is really important. It makes people understand all sides and see how their words and actions can truly affect others. I also love the fact that they are taking the time to make all of this information accessible to everyone through publishing a print. Although this is not the most pressing issue in Hollywood right now, I do believe that this summit will provide a positive effect on the community and is addressing some topics that do need to be discussed.

As someone who has been born in a country where talking about religion could have gotten you killed, talking about action on how to change the antisemitism narrative is extremely important to me. I think that the industry being able to have these hard discussions shines light on the fact that there needs to be change and for the better. I am curious that after the war that has started how this narrative will be and what will people say during the event but I am excited to see the possible change that will happen after the event. I think it is important to realize that everyone has different backgrounds and culture but that is not an excuse to treat people differently. It is hard to realize that there are people in the world that hate you simply because of your religion but it is the world that we live in unless it is talked about.

Fucking Good. Antisemitism is on a global rise at the moment which is absolutely terrifying. Sure, Hollywood is not the largest offender but that does not take away from the fact that Hollywood is a good litmus test for where culture and society is at in America at least. Antisemitism is not always obvious, especially not to non-Jews and even sometimes to Jews who have not been taught about it or have been protected from it. And even beyond the direct Antisemitism there is also the fact that it is a rare thing to see Jews portrayed in an intentional way in Hollywood. The two biggest Jewish movies that portray modern Jewish life in the last couple years have been Shiva Baby and You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah. And those two are by no means representative of the majority of Jews nowadays. In conclusion, I am very happy this is happening and I hope that it causes actual change.

When I saw the title of this article on the website, I immediately clicked it. I am a jew, through and through. My dad is a Rabbi and a Chaplin so my house was very Jewish and I was raised as such. I have been to Israel for a total of one and a half months over the course of two trips, and I am a member of the global Jewish fraternity. The events in Israel over the past couple of days have been devastating to me. I am so happy to see that Hollywood is taking some action against antisemitism with this conference/summit. Antisemitism has been very prevalent over the past couple of years and because we have been so focused on so many other problems in this world, this one has kinda been put on the back burner. Overall, I am so happy about this piece of news and it has bene needing to happen for a while.
