Communication is something that is continuously interesting to me. Good communication can make it so much easier to put on large-scale events as people in remote locations need to be in constant communication. I am on the deck crew for A Doll’s House right now and am having my first experience with a high-quality wireless intercom with Clear-com’s free speak system. I am finding it so freeing to be able to be in communication with the stage manager while I am moving around the space to perform my tasks. The other thing that is unique to this experience is having different channels so that information is only shared with other departments if it is pertinent, although, in this particular situation, I would be happy to hear more of what was going on than is enabled for me. Programming systems like this is a lot more work, and I would love to learn more about it.
I have never used any equipment from Reidel, but I am curious how it compares to the clear-com gear that I have used.
