Dreams really do come true! Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert AND Jimmy Fallon. All in one show? I’d better call and tell everyone I’ll be in Vegas on September 23rd. The article highlights that the show is piggybacking off of their Strike Force Five podcast. Fellow podcast hosts (I’m assuming the other two that make up the aforementioned Strike Force Five) Seth Myers and John Oliver won’t be in attendance. I was going to say that would be way too good to be true. Jokes aside, the proceeds of the gig and the podcast are going directly to their out-of-work staffers. I hadn’t noticed that any of these guys’ shows went off the air in May. I couldn’t tell you if they are back up and running. I think I speak for my entire generation when I say I’m only really familiar with their work through watching YouTube. You do have to take your hat off to them for doing their part.
This is what needs to happen. At least for the time being- those who have made the most wealth- need to support those who have helped get them here. To be honest- the money at the top of both corporate and artistic heads is excessive. Most artists don’t care to have millions- most want a life filled with art and money that can support themselves and their families. They want to produce things they are proud of- excited to share things with the world and only ask for a piece of the pie. It is right for these comedians to do right by their staff. I hope they set an example for other top stars.
