It is interesting reading about this given the current atmosphere I feel is surrounding Disney. I grew up on Disney, and still admire their earlier movies and the joy they bring to children across the globe. I will always love Disney, though recently it seems they have some controversy surrounding them, with the SAG-AFTRA strike and such. However it is always inspiring hearing about the imagineers and their work. I remember watching the Disney show about the behind-the-scenes work of the imagineers, and being so amazed by the amount of work involved. I became interested by d&p through watching the behinds-the-scenes on films, and Disney movies like Pirates of the Caribbean definitely contributed to my love of production design. To be an imagineer would be absolutely incredible, and it’s so cool all the work they do! To build a film set is something, but to recreate a world from an animated world into real life, and make it equally magical, is something completely different. I am especially interested (having grown up with a Peter Pan obsession) in their Tokyo recreation of Never Land, especially as that imaginary location is so well known. It would be a joy to visit!

I always think it is interesting to see the trends of Disney and how they have a ripple effect on other markets like media and travel. I think the trend and mass market that Disney has created is truly one of a kind and it extends so far beyond a person’s youth. If you look at it there are Disney kids and then there are not Disney kids and the people that were a part of the “Disney cult” are probably more likely to raise their kids on Disney and then the cycle continues. There is also the huge point of the Disney college program that people dream of getting into for their entire childhood and into their teen years. Once they make it into the program, people are willing to work for pennies on the hour because they are working for this dream company that all stems back to childhood and again, the cycle continues. I have friends who have four or five siblings and they all did the Disney college program even when it had nothing to do with their intended college degrees.

I really appreciate Disney’s efforts to renew and replace some parts of their parks to newer attractions and themes, especially as someone who grew up on Disney. I feel like I can keep going to the parks and not only ride the classical attractions, but also see and experience newer attractions that fit the theme of the newer generation, as that is what’s “in” right now. I like seeing how Disney is not only updating one or two of their parks, but is constantly updating different parks and attractions all across the world. I’ve been to three different Disneylands(Los Angeles, Shanghai, Hongkong), each multiple times, but I don’t see many similarities between the three, other than the core theme of Disney. For example, I’ve been to various Universal Studios locations, but they pretty much feel the same, and I don’t really see a point in going to other locations, as there is no variability between the parks. Disney on the other hand, will have different rides or themes in each park that are slightly different, and that makes the whole experience much more fun and entertaining.

I love Disney so this article was super fun to read. It’s a bit sad to hear that they’re re-doing Animal Kingdom, however I think Dino-Land will be very cool. I hope they take the time to make it educational as well as pretty. The Moana Ride will be opening soon which is super cool. I probably won’t be going to disney any time soon so I won’t go on it for a while but it’s still cool. They also announced that they’d be making an Encanto ride which is SUPER exciting. I’m just as excited for the ride as I am to wait in line while listening to Encanto music.I go to the California Disney a lot more than the florida one so I am really excited about the new Avengers Campus ride. Also the new Pirates of the Caribbean lounge looks very fun, though knowing disney it will be pay to enter which isn’t great. The most exciting thing for me is that Florida is getting the Hatbox goat in their haunted mansion. When the original haunted mansion was designed they had to take the hatbox ghost out because they physically didn’t have the technology to pull it off. After the designer of the ride died California Adventure decided to re-do their ride and add in the hatbox ghost and it was such a success that they decided to do it in Florida which is so exciting! Also Ahsoka coming to Star Tours is exciting.

Disney is so cool! I think all the new things they are planning are going to be genuinely astounding! When I scrolled down in the article and saw the part about the new imagination of disney tokyo, I was really excited. I have always wanted to go to disney in a foreign country and experience the magic of how they do there. Along with this I have always wanted to go to Japan, so maybe going to Tokyo Japan when the reimagined part of the park is finished would be really cool! I also am a fan of the movie Zootopia, so being able to watch a show based on that would be pretty neat. One thing I do have to comment on is I think disney parks have lost some of the childhood wonder I used to have, but now I appreciate them in a different sense. Disney is constantly evolving, and my appreciation is as well.

This article was super exciting for me to ready because I grew up going to Disney parks and I love the parks so much. I’ve been following news on the Zootopia land that’s opening in Shanghai Disneyland soon, as well as the upcoming Frozen section in Hong Kong Disneyland since those two are the closest to home for me. I went to the Adventure Park and Disneyland when I visited California in May. It was really fun and I absolutely loved Galaxy’s Edge. Though I definitely feel like some of the rides were much older, and would probably go through an “update” soon. I personally like the Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea the most out of all the Disney parks I’ve visited around the world because they have the best overall guest experience. Still, I’m excited about the new expansions. The new cruise line is also exciting news because there wasn’t any Disney cruise experience in Asia before, so I’m really hoping that I’ll be able to go on it one day.
