I think that it is an amazing recognition of an icon of broadway that all of the theatres will dim their lights in memory of Hinton Battle. His accomplishments and achievements are so astonishing that I think it does not fully capture the amazing work that he has put into the industry but at least he is getting some recognition. The way that he has brought so much work and his life to broadway and the industry that his passing is one that everyone should understand to be so sad because his light no longer exists on stage that we can be lucky enough to experience. To recognize Hinton Battle’s impact on the stage and for his honor is not one that needs to be overexplained because of how much work and how many years he has put into his work. This shows how when a community comes together the recognition of an icon will happen.
