Drake Takes First DiGiCo Quantum852 Console On Tour

ProSoundWeb: The current “It’s All A Blur Tour – Big As The What?” tour by multiple Grammy and Juno Award-winning artist Drake, an 11-week trek that kicked off in Florida in February and runs through to Colorado in April, sees front of house engineer Demetrius Moore working with a new Clair Global-supplied DiGiCo Quantum852 console, the first time the platform has gone on the road.

Even after having read a bunch about the new DiGiCo Quantum series, I'm consitently blown away by the consistency and quality of DiGiCo consoles. There's a reason why there are such a mainstay in the live audio industry. This isn't even mentioning the fact that DiGiCo also sells consoles catered to the theatre and broadcast market, with features that specifically help said industries. I will say, I do find it fun that they are only utilizing 30 channels out of the 384 possible channels. To be fair, my frame of reference is theatre, where they can easily be over 100 mics covering the actors, band, and other miscelanious things like talkback. I really should learn more about non-theatre mixing cause I think that could be something fun to do. However, my focus has, and probably will continue being on theatre FOH mixing. There's really nothing that is similar to that, and it poses a lot of fun challenges.
