Miami is a town we’ve never been to and don’t know much about the Miami theatre scene. This article was quite interesting to read through. I’m seems as there’s a comradery amongst the Miami theaters and the Miami community as a whole. Many of the individuals listed are from Miami and have stayed there since. It’s seems exciting socially. One thing CMU has taught me is that the industry seems very larger, but in reality, isn’t. As I mature as a designer, it’s my goal to have a working knowledge of lots of people in the industry. While I won’t be able to know everyone, it just seems that in a network based industry it would be beneficial to have an understanding of. Who knows maybe I’ll work in Miami someday? I’m not the biggest fan of the beach, but if a job pops up and takes me there that would be great.

I started reading this article not even knowing it was about Miami-based creatives. YEssSSS Florida come through! I really enjoyed that this article focused on Latine creators in the theater space that were not just performers. I thought it was interesting that they listed each of the credits of the creatives as more of a bio-style, it felt like I was reading a Playbill for a Broadway show at intermission. I found it interesting that Gladys Ramirez she / her worked in a production company called City Theater, exactly like the one we have here in Pittsburgh. I guess there are a lot of City theaters! I especially enjoyed reading about the stage manager Vanessa, as I am a stage manager. I wish that their individual websites were linked, as I would love to see what their work looks like.
