Bastrop film studio owner sees Austin, Texas, as next Hollywood
kvue.com: Just 50 miles away from the heart of Downtown Austin, one visionary sees the Lone Star State as the location for the next Hollywood.
“I didn’t think Atlanta could be either, but I absolutely, 100% see a Hollywood future in Austin,” Alton Butler, the owner and CEO of Line 204, said.

This idea seems incredibly ambitious to say the least, but I support the vision. I think that Hollywood is such a popular area for film partially due to its closeness to other major populations and cultural centers. Austin just doesn't really have that same benefit, but I don't really know the area well enough to say that with confidence, so I could be completely wrong. However, I definitely can see and do support the idea that going to Hollywood isn't a possibility for many people, so allowing rural America to have a more central film studio could be very beneficial. Additionally, Texas allows for fewer regulations and more freedom when filming, which could be a huge appeal for many people. I found it a little discouraging that the article did not get the opinions of anyone else on this matter and instead was purely the opinions of Alton Butler.
