After unions and labor strikes have been in the news so much lately, it is great to hear of a case where the workers were listened to and their needs were met. There have been many cases recently of companies not meeting the needs of their workers, not recognizing that conditions were unsafe or their workers were underpaid, and not willingly accepting the demands of workers to join a union. In more than a few cases, companies have been actively fighting the unions and trying to prevent their crews from unionizing. However, it is encouraging to see that the push for unionization is not dying down and is only getting stronger. This case where the workers were able to organize and the company didn’t fight their efforts makes me hopeful that in the future, more companies will follow suit and support their workers as they push for safe and fair conditions.
