Broadway Cares is such a great initiative. It grows comradery amongst shows, puts on a great performance, and donates funds to such an important cause. I do wish the Easter Bonnet was happening this year. It’s a fun and silly event I’ve streamed in the past and thoroughly enjoyed. Additionally, I wish this article elaborated on why the tradition is coming to a close. While the AIDs crisis is not as severe as it was thirty years ago, assistance to those who are HIV positive and increased testing is so vital. I’m curious as to whether Broadway Cares would ever grow their donations outside the US as AIDS is still actively increasing in other parts of the world. It sounds like they are organizing a new production instead of the Easter Bonnet. While we’re losing the Easter Bonnet, the new event will be open to the public, which is exciting. I’m curious if ticket prices will match that of most fundraising galas or will be accessible to the general public. It’s a tricky balance to find.
