DiGiCo’s S31 Hits the Bullseye at Target Center
LightSoundJournal.com: Target Center is one of Minneapolis’ leading indoor venues, and in a city that gets over 50 inches of snow every year and has an average low temperature of 8°F in January, “indoor” is a meaningful word. Opened in 1990, the 20,500-capacity arena is home to the NBA’s Timberwolves and WNBA’s Lynx, but also regularly hosts many other events, including concerts that in the past have included Taylor Swift, Garth Brooks, and, of course, ultimate hometown hero Prince.

I am new to sound boards/ mixers so therefore I am not entirely up to date with programming sound boards or the cans and can’ts that different boards contain. However, despite my ignorance in this subject, I will admit that this board looks very impressive. Especially at a venue that is as expansive and incredibly large as the Target center. Just reading the descriptions made me want to own and operate one of these boards. Additionally, in this very particular case, I think that the fact that the venue in which it lives, the Target Center, has a very good chance of doing some incredibly fun and funky things with sound both during the sporting events as well as during half time shows and even just cheerleading performances. I think that this board gives the opportunity to really up the anti when it comes to entertainment in the sports industry.
