Ive never seen the entire Easter Bonnet Competition, having only seen clips of performances on YouTube. I know it serves as a fundraiser, and that performances are usually fun and silly. But it got me thinking about just how much work broadway performers do, even outside of their already commanding shows. Tony performances, Parade
performances, Broadway Backwards, Miscast, the Easter Bonnet Competition. And even Carols for a cure. All that In addition to our favorite red bucket speeches. There may be many folks who don’t anticipate in every one. But theres no doubt that the broadway community works hard to support the surrounding community and arts communities. Broadway may have faults, but I find no doubt that the people on stage and off work hard and do so much more than ever asked to do. For this year, its such a pleasure to hear that the annual fundraiser is returning after four years.
