9 Theatre Books to Check Out This April

Playbill: Shelter from those April showers or bask in the early spring sunshine, but make sure you bring along one of these new theatre reads. We’ve rounded up 9 new releases for Broadway bookworms, including a tween novel series from Mandy Gonzalez, and an analysis of works of theatre in times of crisis.

As a lover of books, I am always on the lookout for new things to read, especially those regarding theater. The selection of books provided specifically for the month of April are very diverse in terms of the topics to discuss and the different aspects of theater. I read an article similar to this one regarding books in theater. That focused on the best books that have been released regarding theater in the past years or so. However, I like this article better because the books don’t just focus on one aspect of theater or one specific identity or issue. I like how this article discusses the aids epidemic biographies, aspiring performers, black theater performers, and solidarity, an entire fiction book, which is also very different compared to books that I’ve seen on theater. As well as a look into the music scene for big names in theater as well. So I definitely will be checking out some of these books they look very interesting.--

I have quite enjoyed these April showers, but have yet to be able to Joy as many books as I would have liked. Simply because of how busy our program here it is I have a few theater books already that I am anxiously waiting to read that. I find it difficult to find time. But now that we are approaching summer, I am excited to read them. However, it was an awesome thing to see the books recommended here, because they’re quite different from what I would expect. Books I have are more instructional in Tech, Nicole, Elements, Technical, and Elements. These, however, will teach me more about the community and that is just as important. I hope I will be able to read these. I particularly enjoyed seeing that there was a Broadway children’s book. Particularly, I find interest in Blanche: the life and Times of Tennessee Williams’s greatest creation. I just did a presentation in foundations of drama about one of Tennessee Williams his other shows, talk to me like the rain and let me listen. I think I’d like to learn more about him and his work.
