I have a lot of fun reading about new equipment like this, and I really hope that someday I can go to a show like ProLight+Sound. It’s cool to see all the stuff that manufacturers can cram into one piece of equipment. The OTOS SP6, for example: it has a zoom range of 7 to 50 degrees, color temp correction, color mixing, a prisim, two frosts, two gobo wheels, and more – which is somewhat standard nowadays, but what blew me away is that it’s IP65 rated and only 75 pounds with all that functionality. I’ve used moving heads that have a similar weight that aren’t much more than a light bulb that spins. The YESTECH MGs were also really interesting to see. I can’t imagine what it would be like to have a screen like that in the Wells. I’ve never really had the chance to work on an LED wall of any sort, but I’ve seen the wall in the Wells in use. Compared to that, the MG series looks incredible.
