New experiment in preventing theater industry toxicity: Term limits

Datebook: When Ariel Craft left her role as Cutting Ball Theater executive artistic director last June, the remaining team members knew they didn’t want to return to business as usual, launching a search to find a replacement visionary who could become the new face of the organization.

I do not particularly care about Term Limits specifically for upper management like executive leadership as I know that that will never be a job title that I have. Additionally, I will say that I think that a higher hourly wage sounds great to me although I would always prefer to be salary personally but of course that is far in the future for me. I will say, however, that I am still not sold on this whole “collective” “Not top down” management style. I have tried to work in groups that adopted this style before and it usually ends up just being governed by the most outspoken member, therefore just recreating the original structure, or it is so populated by strong personalities with strong opinions that nothing ever gets done. I am in favor of a more collaborative style of brainstorming solutions for things but I also believe in a singular leader who makes the final decision. I believe in a leader who knows how to listen to others and delineate tasks.
