Ticketmaster Slammed Over Coronation Concert Ticket "Shambles"
www.ticketnews.com: UK consumers are crying foul after a Ticketmaster mess related to a concert taking place as part of the Coronation process for King Charles next month. Many were informed via email that they had won tickets through a “ballot” process run by the ticketing giant, only to later find out that they were out of luck and the event was sold out.

Ticketmaster, in my personal opinion is the worst platform to get any concert tickets. I have been to many many concerts with artists from different part of the world and hosting different kinds of concert. And with every single one of these concerts, I have experienced some amount of ticketing issues. One of the most recent one that I had a problem was the ticket for the seat that I bought was also sold to another person and we both got it on Ticketmaster. Even though both of us eventually got into the arena and saw the performance, it was surely an incredibly difficult thing to deal with especially when you are excited to see the show. A lot of the things talked about in this article, I do relate deeply. Personally, one of the funniest point about this article is the sponsor by seat geek at the end, it truly brings this article to another level.
I think it’s crazy that TicketMaster is still in business. We’re constantly hearing about how they screwed up a concert or other event and customers are angry and unable to attend. Since this has to do with the coronation, I can’t imagine how much hot water TicketMaster is in. Because the concert is a part of King Charles’ coronation process, the concert is so much more than just another concert that TicketMaster can screw up. I hope that in the future there is a shift away from concerts choosing to use TicketMaster for their ticketing system. It’s failed so many times and I don’t think that trend is going to stop. Eventually, their reputation has to get low enough that people will stop using their service. It seems like they just scam their users into getting excited over nothing, which isn’t really beneficial to them anyways. Plus, given their recent scandals like price fixing and fraud, I don’t think they have long in this industry.
Ticketmaster is a widely known ticketing platform that has gained internet fame for its poor customer service and questionable business practices. Everyone from Taylor Swift to apparently the new king of England as referenced in this article has faced backlash on behalf of this horrible company. The company has been the subject of numerous complaints from customers and industry professionals alike. Besides making it impossible to get tickets from a website whose only purpose is to sell people tickets, Ticketmaster has also been called out for the crazy fees they tack on to final sales. As seen with this fiasco, the company often holds back a large percentage of tickets for popular events, reserving them for exclusive presales or for resale at inflated prices through their own resale platform, Ticketmaster Resale. Obviously, this has made people upset. Ticketmaster has a monopoly on the entertainment industry right now. I unfortunately don’t know what to do to fix it but something must be done soon.
I have been to a decent amount of concerts and hate getting my tickets from Ticketmaster because the tickets are usually as expensive as their fees. Just trying to get a code for a concert was so difficult. Getting concert tickets shouldn't be this big ordeal that Ticketmaster and live nation make it out to be. Getting tickets to U2 and 5 Seconds of Summer took so long and the fees were insane and almost the same price as the ticket. I feel like this is a problem and should be handled like how the article mentioned. We all know how when Taylor Swift went on sale it literally broke the site and this isn't the first time there has been an issue with this. Especially considering how high profile this event is. It is irritating that nothing has been done.
