Reading this article tells me how excited I am by technology, audio, and the advancements made in the field. Reading about these incredible additions to an already amazing event makes me want to travel to Barcelona myself in 2025 so that I can see it for myself. From new sound systems and products to networking events and socials, ISE has it all fo the AV nerds. While ISE is not geared towards theatre work, it doesn’t mean that there isn’t knowledge to gain from the event. A lot of the technology there can be applied to theatre, it just our job and practitioners and artists to figure out how. Even things that aren’t designed for the stage can be shaped and used in a theatre setting. This is an important understanding to have because it allows a designer to pull from so much more material and resources rather than what was only made for theatre.
