Taming Red Rocks: An Evolving Approach To Optimizing Coverage At The Iconic Colorado Venue

ProSoundWeb: In the summer of 2023, I was hired to design, deploy and tune a sound system for a concert at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO, a venue notoriously unique both for its acoustical properties and its challenging coverage requirements. Having never worked there before, I called a number of my colleagues who had mixed shows there, and asked what they considered to be the biggest challenges from an audio perspective.
