Taylor Swift's New Eras Tour Outfits: Reputation, Fearless & More
wwd.com/pop-culture: Taylor Swift continued her 2024 Eras tour on Friday, performing at the Miami Gardens stadium in Florida. The “Shake It Off” singer has embraced custom outfits in collaboration with prolific designers, with looks from designers like Roberto Cavalli to Versace.
Keeping things fresh after going on hiatus since August in London, Swift debuted an array of new looks for the continuation of her North American tour.

I really like the black and gold snake suit. It reminds me of the snake line and form in the lobby. I feel like there are a LOT of rhinestones in her looks. The designs themselves feel a little flat though. I think there are a lot of things they could've done to make the dresses much more interesting. Maybe some more fringe or extra appliques. Especially on that red and blue dress. She was looking a little like one of those freedom pops. I don't think it read very well. I wonder if she didn't have much effort put into her costumes on purpose because she's literally Taylor Swift and people will love her regardless of what she's wearing. I wonder what kind of discussion goes into that. Does Taylor have the final say in what she's wearing or is there some sort of PR person that is calling all the shots? That would be strange but it would make sense.
Costume design for tours and live entertainment is a HUGE part of the industry that I haven’t had many opportunities to learn about. It gives job opportunities to stylists, designers, seamstresses, dressers, stitchers, and more. Although the article showcases three of Taylor Swift’s new Eras Tour costumes, it doesn’t directly mention the fact that her backup dancers are also wearing new costumes as well—each one tailored slightly differently but made to connect to Taylor’s costume through aesthetic and color. When Taylor wears a black bodysuit with sequined snake embroidery, her backup dancers wear black leotards with red snakeskin detailing. The shapes and motifs are clearly connected, but without it being force-fed or obvious. Roberto Cavalli does a great job of making these subtle connections and I think his style fits the mood of the Eras Tour really well. It’s cool to see how he captures the feeling/aesthetic of each album without making them feel dated.
