Inside the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show With Cher, Lisa and More
www.hollywoodreporter.com: How do you evolve and bring back an event that more than a few critics had said might be past its prime? Leaning in hard on what originally made it great is a good start, especially when it’s topped with elements that feel decidedly right now. It also helps if the resulting combination feels simply joyful.

It’s refreshing to see a corporation as big as Victoria’s Secret work alongside other big corporations like Amazon to promote female empowerment. Especially in clothing lines, women are often not represented equally. It is frustrating to have a huge moment such as this fashion show that only celebrates women that look a certain way. I am glad that they took a several year hiatus to figure out just exactly what this fashion show could look like, resemble and be for all women. Even though I didn’t watch it, it’s clear from the article that the production team was able to accomplish what they were looking for, an equal representation of all different women on stage, while also promoting their brand which has become more size inclusive than before. I hope that this year’s fashion show will push the fashion industry to really consider how women are portrayed and thought about when designing and creating clothing. I hope that a reckoning takes place soon and creates a fashion industry that promotes equality for all women.
