I think unions are quite important. I definitely support this idea of the Disneyland character performers unionizing, and I’m glad that they have. I think it's great that they were able to collaborate with the Actor’s Equity and share their similar concerns with audience interaction after the pandemic. I also had not really thought of the issues that performers might have with the washing of costumes. I thought that the washing of costumes would be quite standard. It is quite concerning to hear that performers are having problems like that at Disneyland. Washing costumes seems to me like a pretty standard and obvious practice, hence why this is quite disappointing to learn. I love the fact that the Actor’s Equity has expanded so much to include so many more industry workers that need support. It is quite impressive the large range of worker they have, including strippers and planetarium lecturers. I am also quite glad that Disneyland officials have publicly supported this unionization.
