The First Animated Feature Ever No Longer Exists
collider.com: While the dominance of Walt Disney Studios within the medium of animation has given the false notion that the company single-handedly created this form of cinema, the truth is that there's a far more diverse history to animation. International cinema has often been the source of inspiring, experimental animated films that push the boundaries of the medium; as many animators would say, it's a medium that is not exclusive to a specific genre.

My ideas around animation have definitely been skewed because like most people my age I have been raised around Disney and my ideas of animation entertainment have been formed mostly by them and a couple of the other large animation companies like DreamWorks. It's really sad to hear that there is nothing left of it. It serves as a scary reminder that a lot of this type of older work is ephemeral unless it is archived and saved properly. I'm glad I clicked on this article because it really opened my eyes to the diverse history of animation. I wish I could have seen this film, I wouldn’t have expected the first animated to be a political satire from Argentina. It was really interesting to compare the difference between how they animate now versus this animation and its “cut-out animation style.” This article makes me wonder how many other older animated films we may not be able to see anymore because they are lost.
This truly has always bothered me. I think that there have been so many commercialized things that have been made the “first to …” but in reality there have been so many creations before it that probably inspired the commercialized concept to be what it is today. I think that Disney was a major part of my childhood and probably why I love live theatre as much as I do because I just love the magic that it creates and Disney has with it. I think that there have been times were they could have given recognition where it is due in many aspects of their creations but i have always wondered that with the power that disney has have they intentionally made other creations get lost or has it just been the fact that Disney is so popularized that other things are just not given a chance to eve be explored.
