This is great, I believe that the people who have money and wealth should always give back to those who don’t. It doesn’t have to be for a specific cause per se. Anything that the person is passionate about and believes is a ‘needy’ cause. It is a part of human nature, if you succeed, you look back to what shaped you. Maybe that's what Zendaya did here. She is from Oakland California and growing up there definitely affected her as a young female actress. I always wonder what celebrities' motivations are for giving their money away. Especially at such large amounts. Is it mostly for the image of being a ‘good person.’ Was Zendaya thinking about how she would be perceived– like, “She’s Zendaya but she’s ‘down to earth!’” I think that this is a major factor for most public figures. But in this case, she could feel strongly about this and want to give back. How would I ever know? I wouldn’t.

I think it really important to see people who can give back to their communities, especially where people got their start and learned their trade. I think it also sets an example to other people to do them same and it fosters a culture and environment that gives back and therefore encourages new growth work and experiences. Its also great to see that the actress (Zendaya) made the donation in her name alongside the Womens Donar network. A lot of people might say that not donating anonymously is selfish and a way to make sure people know you are doing good things are acting like a good person. But sometimes i think celebrities using their names is very strategic. This story probably would not have been covered if Zendaya did not also donate to the cause. But because she did it allowed a good network to get presstime (possibly encourage mor people to donate or get involved) as well as a deserving organization some needed funding.

I love Zendaya so much! She is absolutely my favorite person ever and one of my biggest inspirations. I have been a fan of hers since her Disney Channel days, so it feels like I have grown up with her. I think that she is definitely one of the Disney Channel stars that has aged the most gracefully. When I was a kid I loved that I could see myself in her. I remember being so filled with joy and hope because I saw a girl on my tv screen who looked like me, with brown skin and curly hair, doing all of the things that I loved: singing, acting, and dancing. I have always looked up to her. She is so talented, but she also has such a big heart which is evident by her donation to the California Shakespeare Theatre. This did not surprise me at all because she often talks about how this Theatre influenced her and made her the actor she is today.
