Sign Builder Illustrated: Diversified printing and signage business Trophy and Sign Center of Danville, Virginia recently created and installed a stunning Alice in Wonderland-themed wall mural for a nearby full-service hair salon. The new wall graphics are stationed in the waiting area and help transport clientele to a magical destination while biding their time.

Growing up I was never a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland however I feel a strong connection to it. As a kid my mom always loved Alice in Wonderland, especially the Cheshire Cat. When I was young I do not think I fully understood the story and that is why I did not appreciate it. Now that I am older or rather a few years ago I revisited the story and seemed to see the story through a whole new lens. I found that I appreciated the story and had a new understanding of it, it just sat differently with me. Which is always an interesting thing to happen, this is not the first time I’ve revisited something from my childhood and did a total 180 on my opinion of it. I suppose it just has to do with age and experience (well what little I have) changing things. I love this mural and the idea behind it. I think that it is a beautiful and clever addition. Especially since this story holds such a special place in my heart.
This one mural is literally so pretty. I love mushrooms, and I love more psychedelic artsy kinds of things. This wall mural is right up my alley. I think watching people paint murals is really cool too. It's fun to see them map out their space, then continue forward and sketch some of the details and then start painting. Another thing that's nice is everyone's process is different so it might not be the same when you watch another person paint a mural. I also think that murals are something that should be utilized more often., especially in a public setting. however having it within your home, or other smaller spaces like that sounds beautiful and amazing. I would love to have this Alice in Wonderland mural in my home. this also reminds me of a person's house that I've seen which is decorated from head to toe in paintings and doodles and drawings. psychedelic mural artist, and I've covered their home entirely with art. It's a super cool house and I think I would get a little overwhelmed living there, but it's gorgeous to look at when I watch the occasional video.
This mural is so gorgeous! It was super cool to read about this graphics company creating it, and using Vinyl! So fascinating, often when I think of murals I imaging hand painting, but they made a gorgeous mural with Photoshop and Illustrated and then transferred it, which I wouldn’t have thought of. Their battle with copyright made me think, about how do you make something reminiscent of something very known without any of it’s key characteristics? However now hearing that it’s an Alice and Wonderland mural, I can totally see it, though I might’ve gone ‘magical forest’ on first glance. When I was a kid I was obsessed with the Tim Burton Alice and Wonderland move, and have watched it so so many times, so that aesthetic is usually what I think of first when imagining the story, but I find it so cool to see new visual interpretations of things, it just shows how everything can be seen with another lens.
