Over winter break I got the chance to go to the Meow Wolf in Dallas, currently the only Meow Wolf in Texas, but not for long. I am so excited about this new one, I absolutely loved my experience at the one in Dallas. I tried explaining Meow Wolf to my mother but it is truly indescribable. I love everything that Meow Wolf is doing for the community. I adore that they are making art a fun experience for children and adults alike. It reminds me of the wood playgrounds from my childhood with all of the secret passages and endless exploration created by tons of local artists. I did not know that they employed local artists for all of their exhibits which makes me so happy and reflect even more on my experience in my hometown. Knowing that there are other incredible artists from the same, what I see as a somewhat creativity-stifling town is wonderful and fills my heart with joy.
The design featured in the image included in the article is genuinely gorgeous. Specifically, how the lighting and media functions so well with the scenic elements and the people in the center is inspiringly cohesive and methodical. I really love Meow Wolf’s work, and it seems like this will be an excellent addition to their artistic installations and creations. I really appreciate how Meow Wolf is incorporating community artists and creatives from the place that they’re building, it really makes what they’re creating deeply ingrained in the heartbeat of the city of Houston, showcasing some of the coolest art in an already creatively vibrant place. This really reminds me of an art installation like this called HopScotch that’s been popping up in a couple places and is an incredibly beautiful addition to the art scene of the city it's in. This is another place going on the list of places I’d love to visit and while I likely won’t, I hope I do.
