What a huge accomplishment for these two women that absolutely deserve the praise and acknowledgment for their incredible work throughout the years. I am a really big fan of Kerry, Washington, and I grew up watching her movies and shows and to be able to witness a black woman, especially, be given this honor is a very heartfelt thing for me. Not only are these performers, incredibly talented, but they are also people who advocate for various social groups, and do more than just be stunning performers. Which I feel is very important to recognize when giving someone a title as big as this one. Not only do you want them to be good performers you want them to be people who are constantly attempting to change the world around them through using their large platforms. So congratulations to these amazing women who have worked so tirelessly in their career to get to this point.
